According to the latest report from AdDuplex, the latest computer OS from Microsoft Windows 11 currently has a market share of 23. Likewise, the majority of users still own Windows 10 with a market share of more than 64 percent. Currently, only 2 out of 10 Windows PC users are running on the latest Windows 11 OS.

While many users haven’t braced themselves for Windows 11 yet, Microsoft seems to be working on the next iteration of its computer operating system — Windows 12, which is said to launch in 2024, replacing Windows 11 with a new UI and new features.
A few years ago, Microsoft said that Windows 10 would be the last major OS update from the company and that it would continue to add new features to keep the brand modern and fresh. This changed when Microsoft announced Windows 11, the newest computer operating system from Microsoft.
According to the latest report from Windows Central, Microsoft releases a major Windows OS update every three years. Hence, Windows 12 is said to launch in 2024, possibly with a new UI as well as new capabilities.
While Microsoft is still adding new features to Windows 11, it is likely to work on fixing the same before the official announcement of Windows 12 OS. Therefore, Windows 11 will continue to receive security and feature updates for the next two years.
Windows 12 release date
Windows 12 is said to be launched in India and globally by 2024. Windows 12 is available for free on eligible PCs running Windows 11 OS. Note that Windows 12 availability is limited to PCs with modern hardware. Therefore, not all Windows 11-based PCs and laptops may receive Windows 12 OS.
The report suggests that Windows 12 will have features coming to Windows 11 via the Sun Valley 3 update under a new name called Next Valley. As of now, there is no concrete information on the new features and capabilities that Microsoft might include in the Windows 12 OS.
