Rode today officially unveiled the successor to RodeCaster Pro II, its most popular audio streaming and recording hub.
Like its predecessors, the device promises to be a clear and comprehensive solution for recording or streaming multiple sources of audio simultaneously for multi-track recording of podcasts, gaming streams or musicians.
The Australian Pro Audio Company is well known worldwide for its microphones, which for the past five decades have made the Road a household name in studios around the world, but in recent years they have changed.
In addition to some products with a greater angle towards streamers and computer recording (such as the Roadcoaster line), the brand also released its first pair of headphones in March of this year – the five-star Road NTH-100.
Improvements
In terms of audio quality, Road has developed new Revolution preamplifiers that promise to add more volume while maintaining ultra-low noise for microphone and line inputs. A new quad-core audio engine powers the entire unit, allowing it to perform its integrated effects and other signal processing functions without interruption.
The 5.5-inch touchscreen with haptic feedback along with a rotary encoder allows quick access to various menus, ensuring intuitive and instant setup and customization.
In terms of connectivity, RodeCaster Pro II supports Bluetooth for sending or receiving audio channels (meaning you can send a phone call to one of its channels, for example).
There are three USB-C ports in total: one for power and the other for connecting the device to two computers, phones or tablets at once. This is a boon especially for game streamers who run two standalone systems for their gaming rig and their streaming computer.
It has a 1/4-inch cable or XLR input for microphones, four sets of 1/4-inch headphone outputs, and four Nutric combo inputs that can take the stereo 1/4-inch output pair for speakers or studio monitors.
We will be reviewing the RodeCaster Pro II in the coming weeks, giving you an idea of how successful its promises are and exactly what this unit is for.
The RodeCaster Pro II is available for pre-order starting today at $ 699 / AU $ 1,099 (approximately £ 600), which is $ 100 / AU $ 250 more than the first recurring price. RodeCaster Pro II will begin shipping in the US, UK and Australia in June.
