If so, * 99 #, USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) based mobile banking service can be really helpful for you. It allows you to request and send money, change the UPI PIN and even check the account balance without an internet connection.
The * 99 # service provides banking services to everyone across the country. It is offered by 83 leading banks and 4 telecom service providers and is accessible in 13 different languages including Hindi and English. How you can set it up and make offline UPI payments.
Set up offline UPI payments
Dial 99 # On your smartphone or feature phone. But, make sure you are using the same phone number to make this call linked to your bank account otherwise this service will not work.
And then, make your choice Desired language And register yourself Bank name.
You will be shown a list of bank accounts linked to your number, so select the one you want to use by clicking on the appropriate option.
Now, enter the last one 6 digits of your debit card Along with Expiry date.
Once you have successfully set it up, you can make UPI payments without an internet connection as described in the next steps.
Make UPI payments offline
- Dial * 99 # On your phone and register 1 To send money.
- Select the option you want and enter the UPI ID / Phone Number / Bank Account Number of the person to whom you want to send money.
- Next, enter the total and your UPI PIN.
- Once completed, your payment will be made successfully and you will receive a maximum of Rs. * 99 # 0.50 per transaction for using the service.
