Apple is streaming a Yankees game for free, but NY AG pines for cable TV

If you’re using crash detection on the iPhone 14, invest in a good phone mount.

Motorcycle owner Douglas Saunders has a cautionary tale Jalopnik Today is about iPhone 14’s new crash detection feature. He was riding his Livewire One motorcycle at 60 mph on the West Side Highway when he hit a bump, sending his iPhone 14 Pro Max flying from its handlebar mount. Soon after, his girlfriend and parents received text messages saying he was in dire danger, leading to several hours of panic. Also called the police because the phone fell on the handlebar. Thanks for the crash detection.

Riding a motorcycle is extremely dangerous and the last thing anyone wants is to feel that their loved one is in dire danger when they are not around. This is obviously an edge case, but it makes me wonder what other false positives we’ll see as more phones adopt this technology.
