Compared to AMD FSR 1, FSR 2 was developed to provide higher graphics quality. AMD FSR 2.0 technology is supported on DirectX 12, Vulkan, Unreal Engine 4.26 / 4.27 and Unreal Engine 5 as Unreal Marketplace plugins. Therefore, many game developers are able to implement this technology as an open source solution.
AMD FSR 2.0 review: How does it work?
As mentioned earlier, AMD FSR 2.0 is an image upscaling technology that uses temporary upscaling to provide similar or better image quality and helps to increase the frame rate. So, it improves the actual frame rate and image quality at the same time on games like God of War and Farming Simulator 22.

AMD FSR 2.0 offers three graphics settings – quality, balance and performance. As one might expect, when the FSR is set to 2.0 quality, graphics quality is paramount. Similarly, in a balanced setting, FSR 2.0 values both image quality and frame rate. Finally, in performance mode, FSR 2.0 offers a higher frame rate with slightly lower graphics quality.

It is clear that we got the highest frame rate when FSR 2.0 was set to display in both God of War and Farming Simulator 2022. I thought the graphics quality in FSR 2.0 mode should be similar or better, I thought there were no scenes. In FSR mode, it’s especially sharp in the balance and performance settings.
FSR 2.0 is primarily focused on gamers who want to play games in 2160p or 4K resolution, I also tested it in native 1080p resolution and it works well. Overall, the AMD FSR 2.0 technology definitely improves the game’s frame rate and allows users to play the same title at a slightly higher resolution.
AMD FSR 2.0 Review: Judgment
With FSR 2.0, AMD is looking to add more games that use this new upscaling technology. Although almost everyone can use this technology, I believe that people with an entry-level graphics card will benefit the most from AMD FSR 2.0 technology.
